Mrs. Ayesha Thomas-Tunstalle
Greetings Cardinal Ridge Community!
My name is Ayesha Thomas-Tunstalle. In the Arabic language, Ayesha means "life" and it is my belief that a person's name is the bedrock that defines their destiny. My name has given me a purpose, which is to help fulfill the lives of others. I come from humble beginnings in a small town located in Pittsburgh, PA. I’ve attained an undergraduate degree from Point Park University and a graduate degree from Duquesne University. As a seasoned educator, I have taught a multitude of content areas (grades 1-8). It has been my privilege to share my expertise with students, staff, and families in the states of Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Virginia. The brick and mortar and/or virtual settings have been mere vessels for my passion, which is the practice of education. In a previous role, I successfully led an ESOL Team at a Fairfax County Public School. As an ESOL Specialist with experience in identifying and cataloguing accommodations for students (which has drastically improved the academic performance of ELs, students with disabilities, and minorities); I’ll be able to strengthen the foundational skills of learners as well as recognize and scout those that are gifted and talented. I am committed to serving as a catalyst of positive change for those that have been overlooked, misunderstood, and/or disenfranchised. I yearn to guide the future leaders of our nation by conveying a message of hope. I am honored to partner with you, your children, and the professionals at Cardinal Ridge ES to create a delightful learning journey for all scholars!
