Degrees and Certifications:

Kinesiology, Bachelor of science degree

Mr. Koudela, Lee

My name is Lee Koudela and I am currently entering my third year teaching health & physical education at River Bend Middle School and my first year as the SALT. This year, I will also be co-leading intramural sports at River Bend! I graduated from Penn State University, where I majored in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Applied Exercise and Health. I also have coaching experience and have helped coach baseball (Park View), football (Broad Run), and basketball (State College, PA).

As an educator, I pride myself on keeping an inclusive classroom where all students are welcome and treated equally. I personally see the purpose of physical education as teaching the whole student and not just to their mind and body. I understand that every student who comes into my classroom is going to be unique, but building relationships with students is essential to finding what they enjoy participating in. I love seeing growth in each and every one of my students and can not wait to see more of that this year!

As a third year teacher, I am still fairly new to the area and moved from State College, Pennsylvania, where I lived for the first 22 years of my life. I am hoping to become more involved in the community and am excited to continue exploring all around the DC area. In my free time, I enjoy working out, hiking, watching college football, basketball, watching all Cleveland professional sports, playing basketball and eating! I am a huge foodie and love trying new restaurants and learning new ways to cook.
