My name is Kayla Payne and I am on the first grade team at Moorefield Station!  This is my first year being a part of the Shark family, as well as my first year teaching.  I have spent my whole life in Loudoun County and could not be more excited to begin my teaching career here.  I graduated from George Mason University with my Master’s in Elementary Education.  I completed my internship in Prince William County. I look forward to meeting and working with all of my students for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year!  My goal is to provide a classroom environment that fosters students desire to grow as learners.

I live on a farm with chickens, ducks, goats, pigs, and cows.  I also have a dog and a cat, so I am quite the animal lover!  I have two sisters, and three nephews who I spend much of my free time with.  I love to settle down with a good book when I’m not working.
