• Ms. Roberts

My name is Laura Roberts, and I am so excited to welcome families to third grade! This my tenth year of teaching, and my third year at Goshen Post—I am so proud to be a Gator! Teaching is one of the great passions of my life, and I consider it a privilege to partner with you in helping your child learn and grow this year.

I am originally from beautiful northwestern New Jersey, an area much like Loudoun County. I attended the College of William & Mary, where I majored in Elementary Education and minored in Music. Upon graduation, I taught in Fairfax County. My husband and I relocated to the Phoenix metro area where we raised our 3 children. There, I taught 4th grade, and worked in other capacities in education, including supporting students with special needs and doing long-term substitute teaching. My husband and I moved back to Northern Virginia 5 years ago. Before coming to Goshen Post, I taught kindergarten through middle school math students at a local math center. I feel so fortunate to be at Goshen Post, where authentic experiences engage all students in deeper learning, as they collaborate on meaningful projects. I believe learning is intrinsically synergistic, dynamic, and joyful. In our classroom community, everyone is valued and contributes, and everyone belongs. Outside the classroom, my interests include enjoying time with my family, walking in the woods (especially if there is a stream nearby), choral singing, writing, and connecting in conversation.

I am looking forward to a great year! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns via email. Also, you can follow our learning this year on twitter @RobertsLauraB. Go, Gators!
