Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Rebecca Kendall

Mrs. Rebecca Kendall is excited to return to Hovatter for her second year of teaching in the Autism classroom!  She is a native of Louisville, Kentucky and grew up playing school from the time she was in 3rd grade! She received both a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts and a Master of Science degree in Teaching and Learning from The University of Southern Maine. Mrs. Kendall began her teaching career as a Special Education teacher in an inclusion program for students with disabilities such as autism, intellectual disabilities, emotional disabilities, and multiple disabilities in Cape Elizabeth Maine. After four years in Maine, she spent two years as a self-contained autism program teacher for the LABBB Collaborative in Burlington, Massachusetts, and then 1 year as a 5th grade special education resource teacher at Hanscom Air Force Base in Lincoln, Massachusetts.

As an Air Force spouse, Mrs. Kendall was fortunate to spend twelve years away from the classroom to raise their three children. This is her third year teaching in Loudoun County, where she previously co-taught 10th and 11th grade English as a special education cross-categorical teacher.

Mrs. Kendall and her family reside in Aldie with their 4 cats and 2 dogs. She enjoys traveling, reading, attending concerts, shopping, and playing tennis. Most of all, she loves spending time with beloved family in Kentucky and Washington, as well as friends made along the way in Massachusetts, Germany, Virginia, South Carolina, The Netherlands, Washington…and back here in Virginia to stay!
