Mrs. Leslie Akintounde

My name is Leslie Akintounde and I am excited about being Potowmack Elementary's Kindergarten Dual Language Immersion - English Teacher. I have taught Kindergarten here at Potowmack for the last two years. Previously, I was a Kindergarten EL teacher at Sterling Elementary for five years. I have also taught grades K, 1, 3, and 5 in Louisiana and Virginia. 

I am from a small town called Napoleonville in the state of Louisiana. I moved to the Northern Virginia area over 10 years ago, and have lived in Loudoun County for the last eight years. I am a forever #whodatnation fan (GO SAINTS!)

I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA, and my Graduate degree in Teaching English to Students of Other Languages from Grand Canyon University (online). Last year I completed my Educational Specialist degree at Grand Canyon University (online).

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two kids. I also enjoy traveling. Most recently, I visited London, Paris, Israel, Italy, and Spain.  

I am looking forward to an amazing year of learning and growing in our Dual Language Immersion Program!
