Degrees and Certifications:

Dr. Faith Ibarra

I am very excited to be a part of the Visual Arts department here at SBHS teaching art, photography, Graphic Design, Sculpture & Ceramics, and Art History and Architecture.  😉 I’ve been teaching for 23 years now and have taught English, history, reading, art, drama, journalism, creative writing, photography, and video productions. I’ve taught in So. Florida and Virginia and also traveled and taught in 14 countries (Brazil, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Albania, Honduras, El Salvador, Iceland, Ireland, Scotland, England, Norway, Finland, Lappland, and Sweden).

I have five degrees from four different universities and totally believe in being a life-long learner and firmly believe not all learning comes from textbooks, especially in art. My core belief is that we are all artists in some form or another and it is your job and mine to find that form for you and strengthen it in any art course here at SBHS.

Outside of school, I love being outside hiking, kayaking, or simply working in my yard. I’ve been married for 30 years and have three amazing children and two granddaughters. I’m also a parront, which means I have ten parrots. I also own a two art businesses and a bakery, so between all this, I stay pretty busy! But I always have time for art.
