Dr. Scott A. Ziegler, Interim Superintendent
Dr. Scott A. Ziegler was appointed the Interim Superintendent for Loudoun County Public Schools on January 1, 2021. He believes the role of public schools has never been more important than it is today, and is honored to fulfill the interim role for LCPS as it continues to adapt to a fast-changing world.
Dr. Ziegler previously served as a special education and social studies teacher with Portsmouth Public Schools and Virginia Beach City Public Schools. After more than 15 years as a classroom teacher, he became an assistant principal and then an employee relations specialist. Immediately prior to joining LCPS, Dr. Ziegler served as Executive Director of Human Resources and Special Projects for the Portsmouth Public Schools. Dr. Ziegler joined LCPS as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Talent Development in December 2019.
Ziegler holds a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Northwest Nazarene University, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Education Leadership from Cambridge College, and a master’s degree in secondary education and a bachelor’s degree in history from Eastern Nazarene College. He lives in western Loudoun County.
