Helping Your Children Cope with Anxiety in the COVID-19 Era
Wondering how to support a worried or anxious child during the ongoing pandemic and as we all transition back to school? Check out this pre-recorded one-hour presentation from Dr. Jonathan Dalton, a DC-area child and adolescent anxiety expert, on how to help your children cope with anxiety in the COVID-19 era. Dr. Dalton reviews evidence-based, but counterintuitive, practical strategies that parents can use to support children and teens who experience high levels of anxiety. He discusses the difference between adaptive anxiety and anxiety disorders during this difficult time, and focuses on how to cultivate resilience, foster self-efficacy, and help children and teens lower their use of avoidance as a means of self-regulation.
