    About Me:

    Hello Brambleton!

I am Principal Dawson and I want to share a little about myself with you! I grew up in Charles Town, West Virginia and am the oldest and only girl of 3. After high school, I spent 17 wonderful years attending college and working in beautiful Kentucky. I have 2 sons, Jonathan and Damian. My oldest son is a proud graduate of Marshall University. My youngest is in his last year at Eastern Kentucky University and will be graduating in December of 2020. I have a 100 lb. German Shepherd named Jax who is the baby of the family. My husband and I are both avid football enthusiasts. He loves Washington and I am a member of the New Orleans Saints, Who Dat Nation! Geaux Saints! I love to travel and am notorious for watching a film or reading a book, researching the location, and sharing with my husband that it will be our next vacation destination! A Nova Scotia trip is in our near future!

My educational background began at Berea College in Berea, Kentucky majoring in French and minoring in Spanish. I transferred to Eastern Kentucky University where I received my undergraduate degree in French Education. I studied and lived in Paris, France and Nîmes, France as part of the Kentucky Institute for International Studies program through Murray State University. I received a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Shenandoah University and am currently a Doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Special Education. Presently, I am preparing my dissertation on the topic of student engagement using the improvement science methodological approach. I have experience at both the middle and high school level, but count my experience as a mother of two amazing boys as an additional invaluable asset in the role of principal.

As I begin my 20th year with Loudoun County Public Schools, I cannot help but to reflect on the incredible journey that I have been fortunate enough to enjoy. I have been afforded a variety of experiences in education both in and out of Loudoun County and in each experience I have learned the value of relationship building, student learning, student growth, and community. Brambleton Middle School is my heart! I have an amazing school community full of wonderful students, incredible staff, and tremendously supportive families! Let’s continue to Create, Lead, Inspire, Motivate, and Believe! We #CLIMBTogether
