    • Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find my AP Classroom join code?

Your teacher will provide this code during the first weeks of school.  You must log into your College Board account to use the join code.  All test registrations will default to "undecided" status; thus, students must select "yes" or "no" in the dropdown in order to register for an exam in each AP course that they are enrolled.  Use this QUICK LINK for help on how to join AP Classroom with you teacher's join code.

Can I take an exam at the Academies if I am scheduled to attend school there on my test day?

Students who attend the Academies of Loudoun can choose to test at the Academies or at their home school.  If you would like to do this, please ask Mr. Kozikowski or Mrs. Hallman (Academies of Loudoun Testing Coordinator) for an exam only join code.  You must complete registration by November 5, 2021.  This cannot be changed without a late fee being applied after that date.  Use this QUICK LINK in order to see the direct information from the Academies. Click on this QUICK LINK in order to see the letter sent to Academy families.

What is the cost for AP exams?

Beginning with School Year 2021-2022, Loudoun County Public Schools will pay for up to four AP tests, per enrolled student, for the duration of their high school tenure. After those four, students, parents, and/or guardians are responsible for all financial obligations, the exception being students who are eligible for free or reduced lunch. Each exam is $87.00, with the exception of AP Seminar and AP Research, which are $135.00.

Will my AP scores be accepted at colleges and universities?

Students are encouraged to contact their post-secondary institutions of interest to determine whether they accept AP scores for credit or course promotion. Additional information for parents and students can be accessed through the College Board’s site and the LCPS website.
