Tanipa Thomas
  • Originally from New York she received her Bachelor of Art and Master of Education, from Virginia State University, a Historically Black College University (HBCU). Ms. Thomas school counseling career began in 2014 with Fairfax County Public Schools, where she supported all students by serving as National Junior Honor Society Coordinator and the liaison for George Mason University annual Student-Athlete panel discussions for the school. For the last two years she was an elementary school counselor with Arlington Public Schools. There she gained a plethora of experiences that included encouraging Equity and Inclusiveness conversations amongst stakeholders. In those few years, she also participated in the district Aspiring Leaders Cohort and recently obtained her endorsement in Administration and Supervision, PreK-12, through Longwood University. She’s overjoyed to be a part of an amazing faculty at John Champe High School and is looking forward to working with students and parents. “It’s going to be an AWESOME year”!
