Mrs. Katie Charnley

Mrs. Charnley has been in education for 11 years. This will be her 9th year in Loudoun County, most of which was spent as a 4th and 5th grade teacher at MCCS. She is a graduate of James Madison University (B.S. in IDLS) and Shenandoah University (M.Ed. Individual Focus and Curriculum) and most recently Longwood University where she is currently attending for Education Administration.
Mrs. Charnley has won Teacher of the Year for VFW Post 1860 for promoting citizenship and Chick-Fil-A's Awesome Sauce Teacher of the Year, as well as being nominated multiple times for Best of Loudoun and VA Lottery Teacher of the Year.
Mrs. Charnley is an active participant of Harvard's Project Zero community where she helps bring their unique thinking routines to the teachers and scholars of MCCS. 
This will be Mrs. Charnley's second year out of the classroom but she is looking forward to continuing her role and sharing her love of learning through PBLs.
In her free time, Mrs. Charnley likes to garden, kayak, and sing as well as spend time with her husband, 3 kids, 2 dogs, a cat and chickens. 
Mrs. Charnley is so excited to be back at MCCS for another year as the Instructional Facilitator of Technology and the Dean of Curriculum and Instruction
