• Mary Nowinski 

    This is Mrs. Nowinski's eleventh year as an English Learner (EL) teacher. Mrs. Nowinski began her career as a third grade teacher in Chesterfield County, Virginia.  She later taught for five years in Lausanne, Switzerland at the International School of Lausanne.  Mrs. Nowinski also has experience as a private tutor, substitute teacher, and a Kindermusic educator.  Previously, Mrs. Nowinski worked at Cedar Lane Elementary for ten years as an EL Teacher, grades K through five.  

    Mrs. Nowinski has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Virginia Tech.  She is endorsed by the State of Virginia in Early Childhood Education (grades NK-4), Middle Education (grades 4-8), and English as a Second Language (grades K-12).  In 2010, she graduated from Shenandoah University with a master’s degree in Education with a specialty in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).  This is Mrs. Nowinski's eleventh year as an EL Teacher . 

    Mrs. Nowinski lives in Sterling with her husband Matt and eleventh grade son, Jack.  She has two grown daughters: Hannah, a graduate student at Virginia Tech, and Claire, who works in Finance. In her spare time Mrs. Nowinski enjoys reading, hiking, canoing and tubing.  She is excited to start her first year as a member of the Patriot community.  GO PATRIOTS!
