Briar Woods High School 2019-20 Sectional and Regional One Act Runner-Ups!
-
Briar Woods Falcon Theatre moved on to the Virginia High School League Regional Theatre Festival on February 1st, 2020 in Ashburn, VA.
Our performance was held at Briar Woods High School.
The Shape of the Grave details
how The Troubles raging through Northern Ireland cost sixteen-year-old Colleen half her family, and causes her to sees only one way to give those losses meaning: join the bloody fight for Irish independence from Britain. All in all, it was another excellent run for this Falcon Theatre production! At the Regional festival, we were proud as Runner-Ups to best our Sectional Champion school which positioned us into a real dogfight with Thomas Jefferson High School for first place. In the end, we were again awarded Runner-Up status by the narrowest of margins, but were all extremely impressed with the Thomas Jefferson original work that was awarded 1st place and went on to represent our Regional at the State festival. The student actors honed their skills, sharpened their focus, and broadened their theatrical impact not only for themselves, but also for the school and the community as well. It was a great journey while it lasted...and now we focus on the next story to tell!
As always, thank you for your support and see you in the theatre!
