Ms. Feldhaus grew up in Virginia and has recently moved back after living and teaching in Kigali, Rwanda for the last ten years. In Rwanda, Ms. Feldhaus taught second grade, third grade and library. This will be her twelfth year teaching and her seventh year teaching third grade. Ms. Feldhaus loves teaching history and reading and she loves using new technology with her students.
Ms. Feldhaus has three pets--two dogs named Kivu and Nyika (named after lakes in Africa) and one cat named Rambo (Her husband named him!). She loves spending her free time with her daughter and husband traveling the world. She has hiked a volcano to see the Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda, visited the beaches on Zanzibar off the coast of Tanzania, and has gone white water rafting on the base of the Nile River where it meets Lake Victoria in Uganda.
Ms. Feldhaus' favorite books are Matilda by Roald Dahl and The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo. A new book she has enjoyed is The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. She can't wait to learn more about her students this year!
