Her daughter, Allison (19), just graduated from Stone Bridge High School and will attend Virginia Tech in the fall.
Julie grew up in Vienna, Virginia, and graduated from Wake Forest University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and English. She began her teaching career 27 years ago in Atlanta, Georgia. After taking time off to raise her children, she returned to teaching first and second grade at Belmont Station Elementary in Loudoun County. After 17 years, she received her ELL endorsement and is looking forward to the challenge of a new position.
Julie is a Washington D.C. sports fan who enjoys long walks with her two dogs, gardening, reading on her patio, and spending time at the Eastern Shore. She is looking forward to Hokie tailgates and more traveling opportunities as a recent “empty nester”.
As a life-long learner, Julie is enrolled in several courses to enhance her skills as an Interventionist and exploring graduate programs in her field. She is looking forward to meeting her new students and families and becoming a part of the Macaw learning community!
