Ms. Kriigel

Ms. Kriigel (rhymes with eagle) can't wait for the start of the 2022 - 2023 school year! This will be Ms. Kriigel's third year at Meadowland and tenth year as an educator. Ms. Kriigel has worked previously as an elementary librarian, an EL teacher, and a kindergarten assistant.

Her educational background includes a Master's Degree in Education specializing in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) as well as a Master's Degree in Library and Information Studies. She attended many different schools while growing up, but no matter what new school she was in she always seemed to find her way to the library. To her, it was a home away from home and she loved to explore a thousand different worlds all by opening up a book. She hopes to create the same wonder and homelike environment for students at Meadowland.

Outside of reading, her hobbies are running, weightlifting, and embroidery - specifically cross stitch. She lives in Ashburn with her husband and two bicolored cats, Bagel and Jelly.

Interesting facts about Ms. Kriigel:

  • The third librarian in her family (although the first and only school librarian)!
  • Attended 10 different schools from Kindergarten to 12th grade.
  • Completed her 8th grade year remotely and had to send her homework assignments to her teacher in the mail. Her teacher would then grade her work and send it back in a letter!

Mrs. Bouman

My name is Mrs. Bouman (pronounced Bowman).

I grew up in Ohio. I attended Ohio State University, where I met my husband. We have two children, six grandchildren, and a dog named Coal. All of which I enjoy spending time with whenever I can.

I love the outdoors! I enjoy walking, hiking, biking, camping, skiing, and just sitting outside on the deck!

I have enjoyed working with Meadowland students for 28 years now and am looking forward to many more.
