Loudoun County Public Schools COVID-19 Mitigation Health Plan
-
Per an order from the Virginia Public Health Commissioner, each private school and public school division must develop a plan for implementing COVID-19 mitigation strategies before reopening in accordance with the Virginia Phase Guidance for Schools.
The Loudoun County School Board approved a resolution on June 29, 2020 relating to the LCPS return to school plan for the operation of schools during the 2020-2021 school year. The LCPS Return to School Plan supports transitions among Phase I, Phase II, Phase III, and beyond Phase III during the 2020-2021 school year, if needed.
LCPS plans to offer limited in-person summer programs for students during Phase III. Summer programming began July 13, 2020. The COVID-19 mitigation health plan posted below will also be used to guide schools and offices for the limited in-person summer programs, athletics, and reopening for the 2020-21 school year. The COVID-19 mitigation health plan posted below was developed in accordance with guidance outlined by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), the Virginia Phase Guidance for Schools, the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), feedback from the Loudoun County Health Department, and partners within the Loudoun County medical community and LCPS administrative leadership team.
