Welcome Center Assessment Team
The Welcome Center Assessment Team provides consistent, quality assessments to determine eligibility for LIEP (Language Instruction Educational Program) services and to measure a student's academic proficiency to ensure equitable learning opportunities for success.
How is eligibility for Language Instruction Educational Program (LIEP) services determined?
Eligibility for LIEP (Language Instruction Educational Program) services in LCPS is determined through the state-approved WIDA Screener evaluation. These assessments measure students’ English language development in four domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Click here to learn more about the WIDA Consortium.
How will I know if my student is eligible for LIEP services?
You will be able to view your student's results in ParentVUE. Test scores can be accessed in the Test History tab. Your student's personalized score report (EL Screening Parent Notification Letter) can be accessed in the Documents tab. Click here to see a sample letter.
