Degrees and Certifications:
Ever since I was about six years old, I've known I would be a teacher when I grew up. After more than 20 years in the classroom, I still truly love teaching and can't imagine doing anything else! This is my eighth year at Emerick Elementary and my ninth year teaching for Loudoun County Public Schools. I am originally from Roanoke, Virginia. I completed my initial teaching licensure and earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. I taught in Stafford County and Roanoke County before moving to Loudoun. My teaching experience includes preschool, kindergarten, first grade, and second grade- and I have loved each one! However, there is something extra-special about kindergarten! It is a fun and exciting year of growth and learning, and I am happy to be part of it. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to music, playing games, and learning new things. I also like visiting new places or just being outside to enjoy nature. I do not like to cook and avoid it whenever I can! My husband Joe and I have four (big) kids, three cats, and two silly dogs.
I am SO excited to be teaching kindergarten
at Emerick again this year!
