Mrs. Kenny, Juliet
Mrs. Kenny is one of the Assistant Principals at River Bend Middle School. Mrs. Kenny received two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Maryland College Park, one in Traditional Mathematics and one in Elementary Education. She received her Master's in Educational Leadership from George Mason University and has a PreK-12 Administration and Supervision endorsement. Mrs. Kenny started off her career teaching math at Mayfield Woods Middle School in Maryland, where she was nominated for the Howard County First Year Teacher of the Year Award. In 2012, she moved to Virginia and taught math at John Champe High School in Loudoun County, where she also served as the department chair. During her time as a high school math teacher, she was a Loudoun Excellence in Education Teacher Honoree for numerous years, as well as a Summer Residential Governor's School Outstanding Educator Nominee. Mrs. Kenny also coached the Varsity Gymnastics Team and Dance Team for John Champe. In 2017, Mrs. Kenny joined the River Bend family as the 6th grade dean and then as a school-based instructional facilitator. She has training in Restorative Practices, Adaptive Schools, Fierce Conversations, and Cognitive Coaching. She is passionate about building the capacity of others around her and instilling a growth mindset in students.
In her free time, Mrs. Kenny likes to spend time with her husband and two young daughters. She enjoys running, reading, traveling, and being outdoors!
