Degrees and Certifications:
Hello Lion Nation!
Mrs. Lees is thrilled to join the Cedar Lane family this year. She will begin her seventh year teaching here in Loudoun County. For the last six years, she taught both first and fifth grade at Goshen Post Elementary and Rosa Lee Carter Elementary. While at Goshen Post, Mrs. Lees was nominated for the 2019 Teacher of the Year Award in Loudoun County. Before Rosa Lee Carter, she moved across the Atlantic Ocean from London, England, where she previously taught at the Wycombe Abbey School. Prior to working in the United Kingdom, she received a Master’s Degree from the College of William and Mary in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction as well as an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology. This past December, Mrs. Lees completed a second Master's Degree in Educational Administration from George Mason University. She is a Northern Virginia native and lives in Ashburn with her husband Tim and their dog Sunny.
Teamwork and collaboration have always been high priorities in her life. In addition to teaching, she also coaches Varsity lacrosse at Broad Run High School. During her time at William and Mary, she played for the Varsity Division I Women’s Lacrosse team, and coached two youth lacrosse teams in the community. During Mrs. Lees’ free time, she still enjoys working out, running, traveling and playing with Sunny.
Families and teachers both work together to make a successful experience for every child throughout their education. Spanning five grade levels, Mrs. Lees’ goal this year is to foster an engaging, energetic and safe learning environment that allows third grade students to set goals and strive for success both academically and socially. She is looking forward to creating a new and lasting team with you; one that cultivates individual development, growth, and a love for learning. Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Lees at any point throughout the school year with questions or concerns. In addition, you can follow our class on Class Twitter: LeesLegoLand .
