Mrs. Michelle Emanuel
My name is Mrs. Emanuel, but most of my students like to call me Mrs. E for short. We are going to have an AWESOME year! I know that this year will look different from any other, but like the sign in my classroom says- WE CAN DO HARD THINGS! I believe that all children can and will learn and it is my job to give them the tools to be successful. Those tools will look different for each child. My guiding principle as a teacher is that for students to be successful they need to feel safe, accepted, and loved.
This will be my 15th year teaching at Legacy and my 20th year teaching overall. I am originally from New York and I moved to Virginia after graduating from Iona College. I have a BA in English and an Elementary Education Certification. I also have a masters degree in Education Leadership from George Mason University. I have taught first, third, fourth and sixth grades. Third grade is my absolute FAVORITE grade to teach!!
I live in Ashburn with my husband and my three children and one dog. My oldest daughter, Brigid, graduated from Virginia Tech. My second daughter, Meghan, is a senior at the University of Cincinnati and my son, Aidan, is a freshman at West Virginia University. They are all former Legacy Labs! Some of my favorite things to do are: watch VT, UC, and WVU football games, run, read, travel (I love the beach!), go out to dinner but most of all, I love being with my family and friends. I can't wait to meet you and find out all about your favorite things!!
