Parent Involvement Matters!
Family Connection Classes
Family Connection Classes are offered to all Head Start families. They are hosted once a month at a regional location. The meetings are an hour long. At the meeting, staff follow the Conscious Discipline Parenting Education Curriculum that allows parents to learn new strategies to use with their children. Small children are welcomed.
Parent Committee
Parent Committee Meetings are held monthly at your child’s school. Your Parent Representatives lead the meeting and share with you any program updates from the Policy Council. This is a great opportunity to stay informed on what is happening in Head Start. You can also express any concerns, ask questions, or offer suggestions to your Parent Representatives.
Policy Council
Policy Council is a parent-led governance body for the Head Start program. Each classroom has a Parent Representative that represents the classroom during Policy Council. Policy Council is held monthly at the Head Start Office.
