Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Giurintano

Hello, and welcome to the 2023-24 school year! My name is Karen Giurintano and this is my fifth year as an EL teacher at Evergreen Mill Elementary. I love being a part of the 2nd grade team, and look forward to growing and learning with my EL students!

I’m originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, and have lived in Virginia since 2011. I have a B.A. in English from Millsaps College and received my teaching licensure, with an ELL endorsement, from Shenandoah University. After a career path that included time as a publisher’s representative, a proposal manager with a government contractor, and a development writer with a university, I began substituting with LCPS in 2017. In my free time I enjoy gardening, reading, cooking tasty New Orleans dishes, and spending time with my husband, daughter, son, and sweet rescue pup Molly.

My children were Pythons and I'm thrilled to be one too!
