Mrs. Giurintano

Hello, and welcome to the 2022-23 school year! My name is Karen Giurintano and this is my fourth year as an EL teacher at Evergreen Mill Elementary. I’m excited to teach 2nd grade EL students again this year, and look forward to growing and learning together!

I’m originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, (Go Saints!!) and have lived in Northern Virginia since 2011. I have a B.A. in English from Millsaps College and received my teaching licensure, with an ELL endorsement, from Shenandoah University. After a career path that included time as a publisher’s representative, a proposal manager, and a development writer with a university, I began substituting with Loudoun County Public Schools in 2017, which led to me obtaining my licensure. In my free time I enjoy gardening, reading, cooking tasty New Orleans dishes, and spending time with my husband, daughter, son, and sweet rescue pup Molly.

If you have any questions throughout the school year you may contact me at karen.giurintano@lcps.org.
