Ian Serotkin is the Blue Ridge District School Board Representative. Ian grew up in New York and earned a bachelor of science degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois and a master of science degree in Information Systems and Technology from Johns Hopkins University. He has lived in the DC area for the past 17 years, circling the Beltway with stops in Gaithersburg, Woodbridge, and for the past six years, Aldie and Purcellville in Loudoun County's Blue Ridge District.
For the past nine years, Ian has worked for PDRI, a private government contractor based in Chantilly, Va. As the Senior IT Director, his responsibilities include business development, strategic direction, and operational delivery for major government and commercial clients such as the Office of Personnel Management, Amazon.com, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Ian spent the early part of his career as a software developer, technical lead, and project manager for Lockheed Martin and the Appian Corporation, where he developed and managed a multitude of large software systems for the Army, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and various civilian agencies.
Ian was a leader in the More Recess for Virginians statewide advocacy group, and served for two years on the board of directors of the Aldie Heritage Association. He has volunteered as an Odyssey of the Mind coach, judge, and school coordinator since 2014.
Ian lives in Purcellville with his wife, Caitlin, and their two children, Allison and Jack.
