  • Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I join the PTSO?

Research shows that when parents are involved in their children's education, those children are more likely to:

    • Earn better grades
    • Score higher on tests
    • Pass their classes
    • Attend school regularly
    • Have better social skills
    • Show improved behavior
    • Be more positive in their attitude toward school
    • Complete homework assignments
    • Graduate and continue their education

Although the needs for a high school PTSO are a little different from elementary and middle school, we still need the support of parents and guardians as well as students and staff. Each year we assist the staff and students at Woodgrove High School with financial support for school clubs and organizations as well as assistance to fund requests for classroom equipment and curriculum support material. Past funding requests have included things like new batteries for the math department's calculators, a commerical sized microwave for the cafeteria, contributing to offset travel expenses for our Odyssey of the Mind teams to compete in World Competition, and helping the special education department purchase adaptive technology.

Odds are your Woodgrove student will benefit from something that was made possible by your $25 membership. Please join the WHS PTSO today.

    When does the PTSO meet?

We meet at 7:00 PM in the Woodgrove school ibrary on the 2nd Tuesday of each month during the school year, unless that date falls on a scheduled holiday or school is closed for weather. In those cases, we will annouce a change of our meeting date on our website, social media, and/or in the Woodgrove Weekly.

    Who can attend meetings?

Anyone! You don't have to be a PTSO member to attend. Stop by! We'd love to meet you!
