    Math Olympiad a popular math problem solving contest for students in grades 4 through 8. It is open only to schools, school districts, home schools, and institutes (NOT INDIVIDUALS). Last year nearly 170,000 students from 6,000 teams on 6 continents participated in this contest. All 50 states and 39 other countries were represented.

    Math Olympiad goals are:

    • To stimulate enthusiasm and a love for mathematics
    • To introduce important mathematical concepts
    • To teach major strategies for problem solving
    • To develop mathematical flexibility in solving problems
    • To strengthen mathematical intuition
    • To foster mathematical creativity and ingenuity
    • To provide for the satisfaction, joy, and thrill of meeting challenges

    Test Timing: 5:45 PM to 6:45 PM at Arcola Elementary
