Mrs. Lottie Kohl
I love being the School Social Worker at Blue Ridge Middle School! As the School Social Worker, I provide individual and group counseling to students to address social/emotional/behavioral issues that are impacting students’ academic success. I connect parents and families to various resources and services in the community. I conduct socio-cultural assessments to help determine special education eligibility. I facilitate Restorative Practice Circles and Conferences. I also serve on a number of teams to help support student success, including the Unified Mental Health Team, school based and central based Crisis Teams, Student Support Services Team, and the Positive Behavioral Intervention Team. In addition, I am the point of contact for families receiving Homebound or McKinney Vento services.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Human Development from Virginia Tech and my Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and worked in community mental health as an outpatient therapist for 6 years before coming to Loudoun County Public Schools. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or if I can be of service to you and your student.
