    AP SUBTHEMES: Family Structures, Friendship and Love, Beliefs and Values

     

    Express opinions and react to how people resolve conflicts in their personal lives.

     

    • Demonstrate comprehension of content from authentic audio, visual and written texts relating to relationships.

     

    Produce oral and written reports on suggestions for interpersonal relationships using commands and the subjunctive.

     

    Produce an activity demonstrating suggestions for interpersonal relationships between friends or family members.

     

    Produce an oral or written presentation reflecting current trends and/or attitudes in society related to conflict resolution/relationships.

     

    Discuss and/or debate the benefits/challenges of types of family structures.

    Quarter 4: (9 weeks)

     

    AP THEME: Personal and Public Identities 

     

    AP SUBTHEMES: Beliefs and Values, Multiculturalism, Nationalism and Patriotism

    • Discuss and/or debate the rights/responsibilities of students in a high school.

    • Express and explain how students can make changes through participation within their community.

    • Express opinions and react to the role of student government in a high school.

    • Demonstrate comprehension of content from authentic audio, visual and written texts relating to the themes.

    • Produce oral and/or written activities on student government and student rights and responsibilities.

     

    AP THEME: Science and Technology (4 weeks recommended)

     

    AP SUBTHEMES: Discoveries and Inventions, Future Technologies, The New Media, Social Impact of Technology

     

    • Maintain a discussion related to the future (including discussion on technology, mankind, the environment, etc.)

    • Discuss and/or debate orally or in written form new inventions/technological advances.

    • Express and explain views on technology use in schools.

    • Demonstrate comprehension of content from authentic audio, visual and written texts relating to the themes.

    • Produce oral and/or written activities relating to future technologies and professions of the future.
