Partners For Safe Teen Driving Presentation Dates 2023-24
To: All 10th Grade Driver Education Parents & Students- Partners for Safe Teen Driving Presentation: Required Attendance
Tuscarora HS will be hosting two Partner's for Safe Teen Driving presentations. You must attend a PSTD meeting to pass the driver education classroom instruction. Please plan to be present the entire meeting as attendance is mandatory and affirmation of attendance will be done at the conclusion on each student’s chrome books in the THS Schoology PSTD course. Presentations will be held in the auditorium at Tuscarora. Please be prompt as doors will close at 7:00 pm and students must bring school chrome books for filling out of attendance of meeting.
Presentation #1: Wednesday September 27th, 2023 @ 7:00-8:30 pm
Presentation #2: Wednesday October 25th @ 7:00-8:30 pm
If you have any questions about our PSTD presentation, please contact your student’s driver education teacher*All District 8 presentations must be held from 7:00 pm - 8:30pm.
This additional minimum 90-minute parent/student driver education component is part of the in-classroom portion of the driver education curriculum for students under the age of 18. The curriculum emphasizes parental responsibilities regarding juvenile driver behavior, juvenile driving restrictions and the dangers of driving while intoxicated and underage consumption of alcohol, as required by Virginia Code §22.1-205 of the Code of Virginia.
• For students in Planning District 8 (counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas, and Manassas Park): The course must be completed in-person, and a parent or guardian is required to attend.
The parent/guardian and student must attend this 90-minute presentation together. The Code of Virginia regulates these presentations, and no late arrivals are permitted.
