Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Brandy Smith

I am thrilled to be a part of the Creighton’s Corner Elementary School family and the wonderful EL team! I received my undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in Early Childhood Education and my Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology and Gifted Education from the University of Virginia.  In addition, I received my National Board Certification and am certified as a Middle Childhood Generalist. Most recently, I expanded my horizons and received my English Language Learners Certification.

My teaching career began in Stafford County, where I served as a 4th grade teacher, as well as a Gifted Resource Teacher for grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade.  Honors include the Virginia Regional Teacher of the Year, the Stafford County Agnes Meyer Teacher of the Year, and the First Year Teacher of the Year awards. After moving to Loudoun County and teaching another year, I left the classroom for several years to focus on my family and raising my three children.  After serving as a long term substitute for Special Education and Reading Specialist Positions, I was excited to return to teaching as an EL teacher.

I truly enjoy getting to know each and every student, as well as their families.  We have a wonderful community and it’s a privilege to work together. I’m looking forward to another year here at CCE!
