TRUANCY PREVENTION
LOUDOUN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLSAttendance Services’ goal is to work proactively with pupils, their parents, guardians and school personnel to resolve truancy issues once they have been identified by the school through intervention and prevention efforts.
Attendance Officers in Loudoun County Public Schools try to help prevent frequent absenteeism before it evolves into “truancy.”
- Review of data to identify students who are frequently absent
- Regular student assistance meetings with administrators, counselors, and deans at the school level to discuss specific students
- Frequent contact with the school to address problems
- Mentorship and check-up conferences
