My name is Lori DeMark and I am currently in my 24th year of teaching art. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education and minor in Art History from the Pennsylvania State University, with previous course work at the Maryland Institute, College of Art. I obtained my Master of Art Education from the University of Arizona. In 2012, I achieved National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in Early Adolescence through Young Adulthood in Art Certification. In 2013, I completed the Appalachian Trail Conservancy - Trail to Every Classroom Program, a partnership with the National Park Service. Outside of school, I am a practicing artist and have participated with the Western Loudoun Artists' Studio Tour and the Purcellville Artists' Tour.
I started my career teaching elementary art in Ohio. My path then took me to Tucson, AZ where I taught art education courses and supervised student teachers at the University of Arizona. While in Tucson, I also taught middle school art at The Gregory School. I have spent the last 14 years teaching art in Loudoun County, at Harmony Middle School and previously Freedom High School. This will be my 13th year at Harmony Middle School.
This year I will teach 6th grade Art and 8th grade 3-D Design and ART 8.
