If you would like to purchase your own I recommend Bach mouthpieces*Trombone – slide oil or cream, tuning slide grease, “snake” cleaning brush, mouthpiece brush, soft cloth.Percussion:
6th graders MUST have a percussion kit. The percussion kit comes with a bell kit, drum pad, snare sticks, keyboard mallets, and the instrument stand. Please, double check the kit to see if it does have these materials.
Below is an example of what I am asking kids to have for class: Example Percussion Kit
7th and 8th Grade students are encouraged to keep a percussion kit at home for practice. 7th and 8th Grade Percussion students need to have a stick bag, with both snare drum sticks, soft yarn & plastic mallets, and timpani sticks.
Recommendations:- Stick bag: Steve Weiss Liberty Stick Bag- Snare sticks: Vic Firth SD1 Generals- Soft yarn mallets: Innovative IP240- Plastic mallets: Malletech BB34- Timpani mallets: Vic Firth T1*You can purchase the above materials as a pack, which costs less than buying them separately.
