My name is Sara Breitzmann and this will be my fifth year at Hillside and in Loudoun County.  I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction. I have over 15 years of experience teaching preschool and Kindergarten.  

 My family and I moved to Aldie from Indiana in 2019 and love it here.  My son is a freshman at Virginia Tech and my twin girls are juniors at Independence High School.  Our puppy, Ashby, joined our family in 2020.  My son is a runner and my girls are travel soccer players, so we spend a lot of time at track meets and games.  When we are not at the soccer field, I love taking walks through my neighborhood or hiking in the mountains.  I also love to curl up with a good book and a cup of tea. 

 Kindergarten is the beginning of your child's school journey.  We will spend time learning how to go to school, how to work with our classmates and how to keep trying even when it seems difficult.  We will be learning to do things independently and when it is important to ask for help.  We will practice kindness and respect for each other.  We will be laying the foundations for literacy and math skills.  You will see your child grow as readers and writers.   We will try hands-on science and social studies lessons.  And we will talk about our feelings and emotions and how to manage them.
