Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! Thank you for joining me on the journey this year. Students will continue to use Schoology as a digital Learning Management System. Students can access Schoology through their LCPSgo dashboard. Parent communication from the teacher will be primarily through the email address parents provided in ParentVue. There will also be a parent folder in your student's Schoology homeroom page.

Teacher mini-bio: 

This is Mrs. Cruise's 24th year of teaching, and fifth year at Waterford. She earned her Masters degree from UVA, and her Bachelors degree from BYU. Mrs. Cruise lives near Purcellville with her husband, 3 children, 1 black Labrador, 20 chickens, 14 rabbits, 1 bird, 9 beehives, and a lot of trees!

Mrs. Cruise grew up in Texas, Kentucky, Washington State, California, Utah, and Oklahoma, and visited 40 states in the US, as well as various countries in Europe, South America, and Asia. She has taught in 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades in Taiwan, Washington, D.C., Alexandria City, and Woodbridge. Her experiences being a student and teacher in urban, suburban, and rural schools have shaped the perspective she brings to the classroom. One of the reasons she loves being a teacher is that each year, and each day, brings new opportunities to learn and improve for everyone involved. 

Mrs. Cruise enjoys reading, dancing, hiking, camping, visiting historical sites, attending children's events, kayaking, rock climbing, traveling, and learning about family history. Mrs. Cruise looks forward to an engaging year of growth and discovery.
