Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Jacqueline Piro

My career spans over 25 years.  I've served as a teacher and leader at various levels of education.  I taught kindergarten and led the School Improvement Team in Detroit, Michigan at the Academy of Detroit, Oak Park, a charter school.  At the 3rd and 4th grade level, I had the pleasure of teaching Ancient Egyptian and Ancient Greek History and served as the History/Classical Studies Department Chair for Westminster School in Annandale, Virginia.  My experience continues with teaching high school Social Studies, leading Professional Learning Communities, coordinating High School Assessments and working with students at-risk in Frederick County’s alternative evening high school.  I made my dreams come true as the founding principal of a charter school, helping design the curriculum and instructional approach for a Classical Education based school.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts degree in Marriage, Family & Adolescent Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In 2009, I completed the Educational Leadership Master’s Certificate Program at Hood College, Frederick, Maryland.

I  hold certifications in Secondary Social Studies, School Guidance, School Leadership & Administration, as well as Elementary and Middle School education. I enjoy weekends with my fiance' and our children.  You can often find me swimming, paddleboarding or watching a great movie or series.  You will also notice I have a love of clothing and jewelry and have a flare for dressing to show my whimsical, warm, creative, outgoing, no-nonsense character.

I am so, so eager to show your child and you just how deeply caring and passionate I am about building the skills that will enable each of your children to succeed not just right now in 5th grade, but FOR A LIFETIME.
