Mrs. Natalie Walker
Hello Piranha Families! My name is Natalie Walker and I am thrilled to be at Waxpool this year! I was born and raised in southwestern Pennsylvania where I earned my bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Pittsburgh. After earning my master's degree in teaching, learning, and curriculum from Drexel University, I began teaching in Baltimore City as an early childhood teacher, with experiences in both prekindergarten and kindergarten. A few years ago, I moved from Annapolis to Northern Virginia with my husband and our sweet dog, Stella! My husband and I just purchased our first home last August in Leesburg and welcomed a new puppy, Luna, into our family! When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my family, cooking, and traveling.
It’s truly my passion to work with our littlest learners; they’re capable of so much and, with the right supports and guidance, have an opportunity to grow and shine each day! In our classroom, we engage in project-based learning every single day. Students work to solve authentic problems and questions through a hands-on approach that not only allows students to explore academic skills and concepts, but also helps develop important 21st-century skills, like problem-solving and collaboration.
I’m looking forward to lots of learning, adventures, and fun in kindergarten! W.E. will have a great year together!
