Welcome!
I am originally from Centreville, Virginia and am a graduate of Centreville High School. After high school, I attended James Madison University (JMU) (Go Dukes!) for my Bachelors of Arts in English with a Concentration in Creative Writing and for my Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) degrees. Following my time at JMU, I went on to teach ninth-grade in Fairfax County and then taught eighth-grade in Loudoun County. This is my second year at Broad Run and I am thrilled for the opportunity to continue to be apart of this community. This year, I will be teaching Academic English 9 and Academic English 11.
I chose to become a teacher because I believe in the power of English. English provides students with the means to allow students to communicate effectively, a skill important to the world that surrounds them. I am ecstatic I am able to guide students in their development of their writing style, reading preferences, and confidence in presenting information.
If parents or guardians have a question or concern, please email me at bria.coleman@lcps.org so that we can set up a time to talk. I am here to ensure student succeess and I can't wait to work with you and your students!
