Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Alvarado

I received my B.A. in International Relations from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas where I am from. Go Cowboys!!  I am currently pursuing my Master’s of Education in Teaching ELL from George Mason University.  Before coming into the education field, I worked at various non-profits and law firms in D.C.

My experience in the education field includes teaching Spanish to middle and high school students at a private school in Herndon, Virginia and being a teacher assistant at Belmont Ridge Middle School for the last three years.

I live in Leesburg with my two children and dog. Outside of school I enjoy painting, exploring new places in Virginia and spending time with my family and friends.

I am excited to join the EL department at Dominion Trail and offer my passion to teach all students. I strongly believe that my students’ first language is an asset in the classroom and will build on that throughout the year.  My goal is to have fun while helping my students achieve academic success as well as to thrive in their personal lives.
