Mrs. Amye Love

My name is Amye Love and I am very excited to be the full-time reading specialist this year at Lowes Island!  I am embarking on my 14th year in education.  I have always had a passion for reading and hope to encourage students to love reading as much as I do!

I am originally from West Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University with an Elementary Education degree.  After moving to Northern Virginia, I earned my Masters of Education degree and a Reading Specialist Certification from the University of Virginia.  

I live in Potomac Falls and love being so close to the Lowes Island community. My oldest child, Bennett is a junior at Colorado College in Colorado Springs.  My middle child, Parker, attends the Naval Academy Prep School in Rhode Island.  My youngest child, Ainsley, is a 10th grader at Paul VI High School. We also have a seven-year old golden retriever, Mosby.  My husband and I spend much of our time cheering on our kids in their many different activities.  In my personal time I enjoy running, swimming, reading and baking. 

I am very excited to be part of the Lowes Island team again this school year! It will definitely be an exciting and memorable year!  Go Leopards!
