Welcome to First Grade!

I am so excited about starting my fourth year at Frederick Douglass. I love the feeling of community here at FDES. I am passionate about educating your children and love to see their eyes light up when they learn something new. I attended Longwood University where I received my B.A in Elementary Education with a specialization in History.

Previously I taught 2nd grade at Ashburn Elementary for 6 years before I decided to stay home with my children for 5 years. I then taught full day kindergarten at a private school  for 7 year before starting at Frederick Douglass.

I live in Leesburg with my husband John and my 3 children. Andrew attends NOVA and is busy working and playing golf during his spare time. His passion is baseball. Rebecca is an 11th grader at Smarts Mill. She just got her drivers license and is always busy working, hanging out with friends or taking her little brother places. Daniel rounds out the Joback crew. He is in 7th grade at Smarts Mill Middle School. He loves all sports, especially baseball and basketball. My three kids keep me busy watching sporting events, musicals and other family activities! In my spare time, I love to read, garden and exercise.
