Hi! My name is Rebecca (Becci) Hufford. This will be my 5th year at Sterling Elementary, 8th year as a reading specialist, and 16th year teaching! Prior to being a reading specialist I was an EL teacher for 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th grades, a homeroom teacher for 1^st grade and Kindergarten, and also taught Spanish.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and Education from Beloit College in Wisconsin, and I completed my student teaching in Chicago Public Schools. I received my Master’s Degree in Reading Education from the University of Virginia.

I have two daughters (ages 10 and 7) that keep me very busy outside of school. Our family loves to bike, dance, cook, have fun and of course… read!!!
