Mrs. Youngdahl

Hi, my name is Melanie Youngdahl, and I am excited to teach Spectrum at BAM.

I graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Middle School English and Social Studies. My career began at my own middle school in Raleigh, NC over twenty years ago! After getting married and having my first two children, I stayed home for seven years. Upon returning to teaching, I continued to teach Middle School English in Raleigh. I returned to East Carolina University to receive my certification to teach Gifted and Talented, and I am currently working toward my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. My family moved to Loudoun County at the beginning of 2019, and I started teaching Spectrum at BAM.

When I am not teaching or going back to school, I am busy with my three children (Sam, Alexa, and Mia) and husband (Patrick). We live in Round Hill and love hiking, exploring the area, and relaxing at home with our two Boxers (Milo and Sadie). I enjoy reading, boat rides and visiting with my family.

I look forward to getting to know all my students, teaching them exciting new lessons, and encourage them to grow as learners and contributors.
