Welcome Coyotes!! My name is Lauren Ball and I'm so excited to be able to start my second year working at RLC as a Resource Teacher. This year I will be supporting students in fourth and fifth grades! Prior to teaching at RLC I worked in fifth and sixth grade in Fairfax County and worked as a K-5 resource teacher in Northern Illinois. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in Psychology from Eastern Illinois Univeristy as well as a Masters of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Special Education from the University of St. Francis.
I grew up in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Northern Virginia in 2015. I have a fantastic son, Nolan, who will be in 5th grade this year as well as my sweet daughter, Kennedy, who we welcomed in April of 2020! I love to workout especially, if it is running or yoga focused. I have run the Chicago Marathon twice as well as completed several half marathons, 10Ks and 5Ks. As a family we enjoy traveling, hiking and spending time together!
This year more than ever we are learning how to navigate education in a virtual environment. It is so important to have constant parent/teacher communication. I am here to help support you and your family so please feel free to reach out if you have any questions, comments or concerns at Lauren.Ball@.lcps.org. I look forward to a wonderful, exciting and eventful school year!!
