I'm thrilled to be part of the RLC community.  I started my EL teaching career almost two decades ago when I taught elementary school EL students in the morning and high school EL students in the afternoon.  I was then given the opportunity to start the EL program at Loudoun County High School in Leesburg, VA.  Over the years I have had the priviledge of being in different roles in the EL field:  EL Welcome Center Screener, Team-taught a course at LCPS titled: Second Language Acquisition Training for Educators, EL Adjunct Faculty at George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College.
I earned my Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and Intercultural Studies from CIU in Columbia, SC.  and my Bachelor's degree from Marymount University in Arlington, VA.
As a parent of elementary school age children and teacher my goal is to not only help my students excel academically and be the best version of themselves, but also to be socially and emotionally successful and fulfilled.  These traits will instill a love of learning that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
When I'm not planning or teaching :), I love to go on walks with my family and friends, watching Fraiser, and learning a new language.  My favorite color is blue :).
I'm excited about this unique and historical school year as we: teachers, students and parents begin a new journey together.  :)
