• Guitar 7 2020-2021 Important Information
Guitar 7 is a music performing class which will have two concerts during the school year.  Details regarding concerts in a remote setting, if that's necessary, will follow later.   Students and parents/guardians need to know the following information:
    1.  Students will have nylon string classical guitars to use at school. (when we return to in person learning).
    2.  Each student will need to have a home guitar to use for practice of their music.
    3.  Each student will need to buy a method book:  Everybody's Strum and Play Guitar Chords (red in color) by Groeber, Hoge, and Sanchez.  This book as well as classical guitars are available through our local music stores.
Please note:  keep your guitar book from last year if you were in Music Lab 6, as we will use that also, and you may use part of it during Guitar 8 class.
    4.  Each student will need to learn how to read traditional music notation.  Worksheets and exercises will be available during class.
    5.  Students will be given assignments to do at home and are expected to practice their guitars several tmes per week.  Improvement and enjoyment will not happen without practice.
    6.  Students will perform in groups during class and will also do videos of their songs for playing test grades.  Students will record the videos on their school supplied laptop devices.
    7.  Students will learn some music theory and some music history as well during this class.
I look forward to teaching our 7th grade students all about the guitar, music theory and music history.
