Mrs. Heather Binkley, Science (She/her)

The 2023-2024 school year will be Ms. Binkley's 15th year of teaching.  She is a charter member of the Indy faculty and a parent to three LCPS educated kids. 

Ms. Binkley has a Master’s degree in Science Education and an undergraduate degree in Biology.  She holds endorsements in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.  She earned both her undergraduate and Master’s degrees from the University of Iowa. 

This year she's teaching Honors Physics and AP Physics.  (In addition to these classes, she has recently taught Academic Chemistry, Research Biology, and AP Seminar.) 

Mrs. Binkley has been actively integrating technology in the classroom since the early days of the internet.  In fact, she wrote the very first online astronomy course at the University of Iowa in 1996.  She has extensive experience designing curriculum and working with many different learning platforms. She is an active member of the professional educational community and is a building representative for members of the Loudoun Education Association.
